A smart opponent will often feel the triangle setup from the shin-on-biceps guard and rush to escape from that threat. When that happens, you can quickly pivot to the armbar.
A couple of important things to note:
- Be sure to use the collar grip to control their posture and break them down
- Swing that top leg as high across their back to further control them
- Keep the elbow grip to prevent them from defending the armbar while you pivot
